Under the Nile toys are hand crafted, made and stuffed with organic cotton.

cause allergic reactions and respiratory problems in babies. All of our toys
are toy tested according to the ASTM United States government standard as well
as to the EN1 European standard.
- Their
dyeing process uses metal-free or vegetable dyes. Accessories such as buttons
and zippers are made from organically friendly elements such as wood, shell or
nickel-free metals.
- Under
the Nile is certified to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). GOTS is
recognized as the leading processing standard for textiles made from organic
fibers worldwide. It defines high level environmental criteria along the entire
supply chain of organic textiles and requires compliance with social criteria
as well. Under the Nile have two certifications: one for their manufacturing
process, and one for their distribution. All Under the Nile hangtags feature
the GOTS logo.

practicing fairness towards all those involved in the entire production chain.
A fair price is paid to all workers, from cotton growers to weavers. Their
partnership with Sekem Farm ensures that all of their employees work in a
comfortable environment that includes open space, sufficient light and fresh
air, along with exercise activities during the day. Two organic meals are
served to all our workers in Egypt on a daily basis.
- In
addition, all of the workers who create Under the Nile's products receive full
service health care that includes emergency service, dentistry and even
surgery. The children of their workers are also offered schooling from K-12th
grade. Without this school many children would never be educated.
