Indigenous Designs: Fashion trends are constantly changing, but for Indigenous Designs bringing eco friendly fashion to the world with organic fabrics and constructing fashion in a Fair Trade manner came into being in 1993. One of the founders, Scott Leonard, visited South American and encountered the priceless beauty of local Artisans. The richness of the many cultures and knitting techniques encouraged him to bring this information to his California home to create Indigenous Designs. Indigenous Designs has created a network of artisan work from around the world that provides:

• Encouraging the use of environmentally friendly dyes

This dreamy, Alpaca wool* Town Coat will be your go-to fashion piece all through the Fall and into Winter's chill. Intricate Black and Charcoal Gray patterns are knit throughout. Coat comes with a wide shawl collar and attached hood. Low front pockets on each side. 1/4 sleeves end just above the elbow, showing the sleeves of whatever you're wearing underneath. 32" long from shoulder seam to hemline. Coat is available in extra small, small, medium, large and extra large made of 100% Free Range Alpaca*. Suggested care instruction is to hand wash and dry flat. Hand made in Peru meeting all Fair Trade Federation guidelines.

*For our vegan friends: we have been careful to not encourage the use of wool and other animal-derived fabrics, unless they are sourced in an eco friendly manner (i.e. Soft Star Shoes). However, this fabric not only comes from Free Range, hand-sheared Alpaca, but Indigenous Designs has also been awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from PETA for their stand against animal cruelty. We hope you like it as much as we do. The last Alpaca coat from Indigenous sold out very quickly.
